The vision for Current Design Studio came to me in the midst of my 200-hour yoga teacher training. Hands down, those 3 months were the pivotal transformation that inspired the life and business I have now.
If you’re feeling a little stuck, I can tell you one thing for sure: the answers you are seeking can be found in stillness. And in today’s episode, I’m talking about the impact that meditation, mindfulness, and manifestation can have and how easily these practices can be incorporated into your life right now (even if you’re a newbie!)
The Good: Our podcast kit is launching this week! If you’ve been wanting to create and launch a podcast (or uplevel the show you already have), this kit will make it super easy for you. When you purchase the kit, you’ll get a Showit landing page template, Canva templates, and more goodies to help you continuously grow your podcast. I’m also sharing my personal podcast workflow.
The Bad: We’re still in quarantine and I’m so ready for this to be over!
The Woo-Woo: I finished my 30 day meditation challenge this month. It was amazing and I feel really great, level-headed and grounded. I enjoyed the process so much, I’m going to aim for 60 days!
I was always into meditation and spirituality, but never had a developed practice. As soon as I moved to California, I was on a journey to find my purpose, and yoga teacher training was the spark that kicked that off.
It’s not cheap to invest in a yoga teacher training so the investment was a huge deal for me, but I was adamant about doing it and signed up for a 3-month summer intensive where I would spend hours at the studio every weekend.
It was so hard and immersive, but powerful. I wouldn’t take those days back for anything.
Combining that with journaling, breathwork, and meditation, I realized I didn’t want to sit in a cubicle anymore, and the idea for Current Design Studio came to life.
Last summer, I felt like I was on the brink of a breakthrough for my business. I went to a Create & Cultivate conference and saw the founder of Poo-Pourri speak, Suzy Batiz. I’ll never forget what she said on stage that day: “If you want to go big, go in.”
That spoke to me on so many levels and changed my business even more than yoga teacher training. I realized I had been searching externally for everything, but I needed to know that the universe was going to deliver.
Then, I joined a mastermind for spiritual business owners and met so many incredible high-vibe women that taught me how to manifest my highest desires.
Meditation: I sit in stillness regularly and have turned the ritual of meditation into a non-negotiable. Headspace is an incredible app that has guided meditations on everything from creativity to productivity and listening to these helps cut down the chatter going on in my mind. I’ll even meditate at night laying down and adding red light therapy into the mix. If you’re just getting started, start small. Even 2 or 3 minutes of sitting and grounding and connecting your mind, body, and soul is worthwhile and you can build from there!
Journaling: I use journaling as a flow for getting my thoughts out of my head and onto paper. It’s really helpful. Don’t be surprised if some of your best ideas emerge!
Nature Walks: Technology-free nature walks are everything. I love to acknowledge how my feet feel on the ground, and just “be.”
Oracle Decks: If I need extra guidance and want to tap into my intuition, I pull some cards and see what comes up.
If you find yourself constantly rushing around and checking things off your to-do list, acknowledge what’s going on around you and create some white space in your life.
You as the CEO should be focusing on the big picture dreams for your company. If you’re too “in the weeds”, it’s time to outsource those smaller, more tedious tasks so you can get to the root of your business.
Clearing this space will allow you to be more mindful and intentional.
This is something new that I’ve been working on: calling in what I desire on an energetic level.
If you want to manifest something, whether it’s new coaching clients or five figure months, actually visualize yourself getting those very things. Feel into what it would be like if these dreams become reality.
Every new moon, I set five new, super specific intentions and assign a call to action for each one. One of mine was to get five new full brand and web design clients. I’ll visualize them coming my way, signing the contract, and working with them.
I also created a vision board for 2020 and not only is it my desktop background – it’s my phone background too, so I’m always looking at it. It keeps me focused on my goals.
“When you are listening to yourself and you are so connected in mind, body, and soul, those are the answers that you’re looking for.”
