4 Common Coaching Website Mistakes

Share

Whether you absolutely love your current website or wanted to build a new one yesterday, this blog post is a must read. Even if you have the most beautiful website design and it aligns perfectly with your brand, there are still a few key features that are vital to actually converting your website’s foot traffic.

If you’re making one or more of these common coaching website mistakes, it’s possible that it could be hindering the scalability of your business and making you lose potential clients who would otherwise be booking your services.

Here are the 4 most common common mistakes you might be making on your coaching website:

01. There’s no clear call to action (CTA)

People want immediate understanding and knowledge when they click on your coaching website.  The average human attention span in 2021 was reported as being just eight seconds long (and it’s shrinking every year), which means you have to be extremely clear about what you want your visitors  to know and then provide clear direction on what to do next.

How to fix it: Edit your homepage. Add CTA buttons throughout your pages and determine the best CTA marketing strategies for your coaching website. Clarify what you do, who you serve, and how people can work with you.

02. There’s not enough information about you

Your website is just that…YOUR website. It’s your meet and greet spot for  potential clients. It’s also your chance to build connection and relatability. Remember: people want to work with people, and offering your story is an important part of building that relationship.

How to fix it: Share your story! Be authentic and vulnerable so you can show clients why you’re a good match for all their coaching needs.

03. It’s hard to contact you

You’d be surprised by how many coaching websites we come across that offer no clear “contact” button. HELLO PEOPLE! This is why you have a website, so people can contact you and inquire about your services. The goal is to make this step as easy as possible for visitors so they don’t have to search for it themselves.

How to fix it: Make it as easy as possible for your visitors to contact you. Create a contact form or page and link this throughout the website where it makes the most sense. Also, offer your email address and clarify if that’s how you want people to reach you.

04. It takes too many clicks to get somewhere

Again, don’t make people click around and search for what they need. If someone can’t find what they are looking for within those first eight seconds, they are clicking the “back” button or worse…exiting out of the tab. Your visitors need guidance on how to navigate through your website, so make sure it’s easy to navigate and easy to understand. Be their guide!

How to fix it: Condense your website pages. A good rule of thumb is that it should take 1-2 clicks to get anywhere on your website.
