“I don’t wear ‘I’m Busy’ line a badge of honor, it’s just how I choose to live my life”
My dear friend, Chanel Sonego, said this quote in our Designed to Scale Mastermind call the other day and since then, I’ve been noticing my “busy” habits and hearing Chanel’s words echo in my head.
Lately when asked how I’m doing, I say, “Busy, but in a really good way”. Because it’s true – I’m busy! BUT, busy doing things I CHOOSE to do.
I’m busy with really fun client work
I’m busy with my team elevating our experiences
I’m busy learning for business growth + personal growth
I’m busy planning my wedding + updating our house
I’m busy being a friend, fiancé, daughter, sister + mentor
The stigma around saying “I’m busy” and wearing it as a negative badge honor is a bandwagon I never hopped on and have always looked at “busy-ness” as negative.
When it comes down to it though, I don’t like being bored. I’m always looking for something to do, it’s just how I’ve always been; I’m a glorified “busy body”.
Now, I know, I KNOW there’s a time and place for rest and believe you-me, there are days I’m busy doing… nothing. But the days I’m tinkering around the house, drawing or talking to my mom about the wedding, are the busy days I choose.
✨ Set boundaries with clients, friends, family, your dog, etc. Over communicate!
✨ Know what you’re choosing. When you say “yes” to something, you’re saying “no” to something else.
✨ Put **literally** everything in your calendar. Pilates, FaceTimes, Coffee breaks – all of it.
✨ Make client calls in the middle of the week (T-TH) to start + end the week in peace.
